Welcome to the Writing World of R. Rose
2013 was “The Year of Successful Living,” so how did you do? Did you present yourself with challenges and then rise to meet those challenges?
Last year was a remarkable year for me:
ü “Desires (A Legacy Novel)” was released and met with great reviews.
ü A local school invited me to read Dr. Seuss’ “One Fish, Two Fish” for Read Across America. It was a wonderful experience and I was able to read my son’s favorite book.
ü I was honored to be interviewed by Bill Thompson for “The Bookcast.” Wow, it was both exciting and terrifying. Although, he did invite me to come back after the release of “Malevolence,” so I guess I wasn’t the worst guest he’d ever had on the show.
ü Just when I thought everything was going along amazingly, I was surprised when it was kicked up to extraordinary. During a chance Twitter suggestion by Kami Garcia, “Desires” will be making an appearance on one of the episodes of Rachel Caine’s web-TV series “Morganville” based on her “Morganville Vampires” book series. “Squeeeee,” did not even come close to showing how excited I was when I found out.
ü Saskia Book Services created amazing book trailers for both “Desires” and “Malevolence.”
ü I also had the good fortune to be interviewed by some of the most talented website owners and bloggers that I have ever met.
I have decided that 2014 will be called “The Year of Living Your Dream.” Now for me that will be living the life of a NYT best-selling author. I can almost hear some of them laughing right now, but this is my dream and that makes the job glamorous. At least I am off to a great start.
ü In May I will be signing at the RT Booklovers Convention in New Orleans. I have always wanted to attend RT Con and also to go to New Orleans and I get to do both at the same time. (Can I go “squeeee” again?)
ü If all goes right, “Malevolence” will be released just before RT Con.
As more things are added to this year’s list, I will keep you updated. For now, I just want to say “Welcome to my website” and may you let this year be your “Year of Living Your Dream.”
