Paranormal Bites

Ginger’s lungs ached from the exertion of running. Cutting through this alley was the bane of her existence, but when she missed the last bus after work it was the only way to get home without walking an extra five miles. A catch in her breath denoted the tingling chill that raised goose bumps on her skin. If only she had run this fast earlier, she would have made the bus and been sitting in front of her TV watching Jimmy Fallon. A foreboding sense urged the need to push herself even faster; she could see the end of the alley. Less than ten feet stood between her and the bustle of 43rd Street. Relief flooded her adrenaline-fueled nerves and escaped in a puff of vapor through the chilled night air. Ten giant steps and she would be out of this nightmare. After tonight, she would never again miss that last bus. She glanced back over her shoulder, “Kiss my arse you creepy, dark alley.” That’s when she hit it. She thought for sure she had run straight into the wall of the brick building. That was until unyielding arms wrapped around her, refusing to relinquish their grip even as she choked on the stench of foul breath and her own blood. Ginger’s last thought before her throat was torn open, I was right…I’ll never again miss the last bus.

If you are ever looking to read a book with bite, you only need to go as far as the paranormal section of your local bookstore or library. Vampires, werewolves, and demons of all shapes are waiting to sink their teeth into you in the darkened corners of your imagination…or better yet, for you to sink your teeth into them.

I love to read the paranormal works of authors like Nalini Singh, and Charlaine Harris. I adore Myrnin from Rachel Caine’s “Morganville Vampires” series. However, I am smart enough to do it from afar and Bones from Jeaniene Frost’s “Night Huntress” series can bite me anytime.

“Paranormal Bites” will be the place to satisfy those late night cravings.
